we are officially under exclusive rights reissuing a very special privetly pressed 45, -silver satin- by axis. originally released back in 1984, axis was a short-lived band formed in california by guitar player/vocalist byron bordeaux. back in 80s, record was never officially distributed, with only a couple of hundred 45s made, and sold exclusively at their shows. byron recorded a good deal of demo tracks, which for the next 30 years would go unreleased, all stuck on a pile of 8-track and cassette tapes. you can find one of these tracks on the flipside of this 7- - -runaway love- was completely recorded and performed by byron circa 1986. following the band s dissolution, byron continued performing, eventually ending up playing alongside the likes of bobby womack, buddy miles and the gap band. fast forward three decades later, -silver satin- is a sought after record on the collectors market that when found, goes for triple figures on ebay, discogs and the like. heavy support from jeremy underground as played live at dimensions 2016.

the 2nd release from i walked by night comes firing out of the southside of glasgow. a young man by the name of the burrell connection has been flying under the radar for a few years now... a perth native / glasgow immigrant has been making music since he was 15, his first release came via west end communications (003) in 2015. since then he has released most recently with craigie knowes on the amazing 2nd annual war child fundraiser along with legowelt, shanti celeste, neville watson and many more. southside was made with a juno 6, yamaha dx21, roland tr8, korg minilogue and twisting samples and recording most tracks in one take with little post editing. this ep oozes raw energy and shows off a delicate deft touch. after debuting at the warehouse project in 2016, the burrell connection will be producing his first live show in 2017.

after their highly regarded debut on attic music called “laq 02” back in may 2016 boston 168 are back with a 4-track spanning release named “khidi raver”.
again, the italian duo delivers a well balanced release that cleverly touches different sides of modern day techno music. from the slow paced chug “khidi raver” to the emotive tones of “blu bridge”, the a-side already showcases the duo’s versatile pallette.
on the b-side we find an acidic growler named “j the master” which is heavy arms material for the festival season. label owner fabrizio lapiana offers a haunting remix of “khidi raver” to close down the record.

having remixed depeche mode and dj hell as well as releasing a new fixmer/mccarthy single with douglas mccarthy (of nitzer ebb), 2017 has already proven to be a productive year for terence fixmer. with the new force ep, the berghain resident follows up on 2016 s beneath the skin ep (o-ton 97), offering four stylistically different but congenial techno scenarios for club use. the record s eponymous track on a1 doesn t think twice: the initial signal horn starts as sudden as the staggered kick drum rhythm, reoccurring throughout the cut s 6-minute playtime while sustained and oppressive screams from a synth, extra multifaceted ebm percussion and synth drones add to the overall sombre atmosphere of ôforceö. the musical vibe distinctly changes with ôsidewalkö which puts more focus on synth melodies û like its predecessor a techno cut per se, but with a stronger accent on hypnotic motifs. on b1 ômelting planetsö emphasises the kick: clocking in slightly slower than the other three tracks û at 122 bpm û the bass drum here sounds extra vivid, ever-present and spot-on, just as if terence was playing the drum kit sitting right next to you. with additional percussion and swirling melodies ômelting planetsö is a lulling, mesmerizing meditation in dub techno. ôstriking patternsö on b2 links to the best moments of force ep s a-side, combining bone-dry bass drum hits and distinctive brazen, banging noises, pulsing synths pads and sizzling surface sounds.
